I had this question before. If you still want sound recorded get ZD Soft Game Recorder here.

It isn't that great. I myself have a stronger dislike for Fraps than ZD Soft though.

If you do not really care for recording the sound (like if you want to make a music video) definitely get Game Cam. It records really well, with a sweet profile manager and the videos do not take up Gigabytes worth of space. The only draw-back is that it is a watermarked version and the main watermark is that you cannot record sound. Everything else is pretty much fine. Unlimited record times by the way. Find it here. I recommend getting the lite package, you seem to get more. And if sound matters not in your video, I would highly, very highly, recommend Gamecam. Like I said, the only large drawback is that no sound is recorded. Also note that any game recorded in Steam stutters quite a bit, especially newer games like Episode One and Half-Life 2 (even though it is three years old). You could record HL:S or the older Half-Life games probably on Game Cam without stutter.

Just to wonder, what are you PC Specs?

You could also use the built-in Source recorder if you wanted to specifically record games that run on the Source engine.

Yeah and it's amazing! No lag whatsoever and you can record at the same resolution as your computer screen. I recorded my G-Man video with it.

How do you use it? I would like to do a video review sometime for my site on HL games. Like Episode Two.

I think I've found something, however, if this doesn't work, your best bet would be to ask someone while playing online.... Multi-Demo Recorder Script For Source Engine Games, Half-Life 2 Downloads, Half-Life 2 Utilities

You could try what Malestrom suggested, but I've never used that so I don't know how it works. The tutorial at the link below is pretty good (I didn't make it). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4MK_XJeNqA You'll need the program VirtualDub and the K-Lite Codec pack to do it but it's pretty easy. Let me know how it works. I could write out directions if you want me to.
