Ok, I saw a video of a huey lifting a jeep and another one lifting a boat off the ground but I don't know how to do it. Anyone know how to airlift vehicles with the choppers?

Use secondary attack to deploy the winch cable then hold down the secondary attack and hover over the jeep/boat/tank that you want to life then when the cable links up a light in the secondary attack thing will go greed then let go of the secondary attack button and fly away and when you want to let go of the jeep/boat/tank just go low to the ground and press secondary attack. Read the manual for the official instructions if you dont get this.

Is there a timer or something on how long it takes for the winch to link up? I've done this a bunch of times but never managed to get a linkup.

You have to know where to attach the cable. On each vehicle it's generally in the center. On the tank it's near the 2nd position gunner. On a Jeep it's near the weapon. On a PBR it's near (or on) the roof of the driver's position. Use alt-fire (right mouse button by default) to lower the cable. Keep it pressed down. Watch your cable hud (bottom right) to see how long to attach (yellow bar) and if you have attached (green light). You'll hear a click when it attaches. Let go of the right mouse button and take off. Make sure you remember to gain altitude or else you'll be dragging the vehicle all over the jungle. Gaining altitude is dependant on the vehicle you're lifting. A Jeep weighs considerably less than a PBR. A PBR weighs less than the MSP boat (mobile spawn point). The MSP weighs less (though not much) than a tank. Fire up Operation Hastings as a LAN/Local game, hop in on your own and practice like crazy. I'm almost good enough to airlift a vehicle out of a hotzone. Almost.
