Yes the BFD MOD is very cool and fun to play!
Yeah, the Flare Gun got cut out of the game. However, in my mod, e-dalgo Mod, I implemented the Flare Gun as it would have been if it were in BFV 1.00. Not that exciting, but oh well. Destrucktion_XL and I were most likely working on implementing it at the same time, however, he got it to work as it should. I, on the other hand, just implemented the model and the fire effect when the flare projectile hits the ground. Oh, and by the way... great mod, Destrucktion_XL!
Didnt veitnam have mini guns like the one the terminator had in judgment day 2 i see alot of vetnam movies with big strong tuff guys with a mini gun
Yeah I saw a video where there was 1 on a plane, that was strafing around in air firing a gun
yes, and they are in the game. they are the secondary fire for the attack huey co-pilot, and the alt fire for the gunner in the cobra.
I would imagine that the flare gun will be made available in the 1.1 patch. Well atleast i hope so. -NFC Gun4Hire
I can't think of a single Vietnam War era movie where any character was using a minigun like in Terminator 2. It's there in Predator as well. But in a Vietnam movie?! Sure, from the sides of helos and under their chins, but as a portable weapon?!

You hit the nail on the head there - Movies. The rate of fire on the gatling-style machine guns - like the M134 from another thread - is far too high for any foot soldier to handle. The M134, for example, has a ROF of 4,000 to 6,000 rounds per minute. Add the gun's weight (approx 40 lbs) and ammo you'd need to fire it for one straight minute (approx 300 lbs) and you have a rather unusable weapon... unless you can lug that much through a jungle. Besides, the kickback from shooting those shells would throw the soldier down. As far as Vietnam movies and this style of gun, I have to say I haven't seen it in any. Predator took place in 'present day' (1987) Central America.
