no.. my games have been fine fir like the 3 years theyve been out.. this problem just started randomly like a week and a half ago, yes my name works
OK. I am out of town on buisness and will return Sat. There are a few things I can check on then. If you have not done so yet, perhaps you could copy any mods you have to a new folder and then delete them from the the source mods folder. Try to remove any additions or changes to bring the games back to the original install configuration. I have made a few errors trying to change different settings and such wich has resulted in my games not working. Undoing my so called changes fixed things. Now I always make copies of any files I alter.
i have actually tried that with team fortress. it wont even let me redownload the game it says.. that it cannot connect with steam.. steam does connect to the internet though.. but the downloads dont work.. thank you so much for your help
You are welcome. I wish I had an immediate answer but not having access to the game on my company laptop prevents this. I will do some thinking on it during the day. I wonder if anyone else has had issues like these? If so it would be nice to know how they solved them too. At home, I have a 28 page document where I keep adding solutions to various problems and find it usefull with troubleshootng. I will have to get that on this laptop at least. Later.:nodding:
cool.. even cooler about the document you have going on
i fixed it.. ill followed the instructions in the last paragraph on this page.. although i didnt delete everything.. but a bunch of it.. here the link
the touble shooting step 3
thanks so much for your help though
Excellent!:) Just reload things one at a time and check for good ops and then add another. Thanks for the link, I will add it to my solutions list!:D Someday soon I hope to have my Steam solutions document done and somehow make it available to all here. A one stop help guide if ya will. And hopefully others would then add to it as well considering all the knowledge that has to be out there.
