okay i were just experimenting and tried to find the highest resolution i can run HL2DM in and all of the sudden the screen goes black and i cant do anything... My screen displayed a message box which sayd that i'm trying to run it on 87hz when my screen is actually 75hz so it wont work. Now to the problem i cant change the resolution option anywhere, tried reinstalling HL2DM but nothing.

Safe mode. You didn't have to reinstall anything.

If im correct in the beginning of windows xp you see a text saying push F4 To go to setup and you can choose if you want to go safe mode or normal mode or format etc. dont know if you can push it but try to find it.
