Not sure if this will fix you loading screen problem, but it helps. Never heard of your exact problem with crashing loading a level. Turn sound off and try it, who knows maybe a sound conflict?
18.104.22.16883 Driver date - 9/29/2004, Have had problems with the one at ATI's website. I get refresh erroes on my mouse cursor and the text is unreadable. as if the textile alignment was off in DirectX enviroments... Will get the other driver downloaded and prepaired for install for testing purposes if you cant think of anything else. oh, DirectX 9.0B is installed.
Alrighty... I have determined that the problem lies within the map file C1_town_01a I can level skip by it without a problem. back track to where the level was exited and i Still get error. manual loading of map file presents error.

Maybe a reinstall will work?
I verified all my files. and they came out fine. dont know what to say. might try an install. but its a short 5 minute area or something. not really worth it imo.
