I've looked on the support website for steam, downloaded latest everything, reinstalled steam along with all its games but nothing seems to work. Everytime I play a Source game it crashes in about 15 seconds and a sound loops. there is no error message and I'm forced to shut down my computer manually. Anyone else have this problem? Help please? PS: I've tried everything on this page. Yes, I do have a Sound Blaster card (Live! 24bit) me specs: 3.4ghz ; 1gb RAM ; 128mb ati radeon X300
Has it allways worked? Also, you should try posting in the forums on the valve website. Oh and try and get an error log... should be in the steam main folder. If this didn't help, sorry I just pulled it out of my :moon: , but it does make sense.
well it's always worked before, I can't quite remember when it started crashing but it was maybe 2 months after the release of DoD:S (bad memory =P). I'll go ahead and post this same issue on the Valve forums, but I'll still look on this one to see if the HL2 community can help me out a bit. I'm pretty much worried that some admin there will send me the page I just posted and ignore my constant whines of "I already tried that, get it through your head!" :p
What ATi drivers are you using?
I think I'm using Catalyst 6.5 (on their website), I'm not so good along the whole line of drivers but anything else I can figure out. Edit: should I be getting "Hydravision"? I'm used to Nvidia but let's not start an argument =P
