I didn't make it!
So i've been playing Counter-Strike Source, other than a few wall and ground glitches (they seem to come off the map and there are cuts in the walls and stuff, hard to explain, but very few) but when i try to play Half-Life 2, everything goes pretty well and smoothly until i get to the part where Gordon is being teleported at the beginning. There is a short scene where he is being tossed into the water. Right before that the old man says something about the man he saw being Gordon and then i freeze. My computer freezes and he just stops moving. I don't know what the problem is because i can play Counter-Strike Source ok. Sometimes my computer freezes while i'm connecting during the "Sending CLiet info" part, but not too often. I just built my computer brand new: AMD 64 3000+, 512 PC3200 RAM, and a ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128 mb. these specs are supposed to be able to give me at least 85% playability of Half-Life 2. But it takes forever to load it, and when i play it freezes. I've tried entering cheats to slip a level to a new map but everytime i freeze in the middle. The catch is that my video card was bought used off of ebay, but it was only used for 2-3 months, nothing old. In CS, when i try to run the Video Stress Test i freeze everytime. But i am able to play the game at the highest settings. I don't know what to do. I've been suggested to get a new card, or i can reinstall Half-Life 2 because that is what could be the problem. If i reinstall HL2, i'll be able to keep CS:S and steam won't be a b---- about it right? Just needed some help, thanks.
well update ur video card drive and if that dont work i dont know wut to tell u my game works fine and everythign is on medium and i have like a radeon 9000 64mb video card with a AMD athalon 1.2ghz processor with only like 384 mb of ram and i worked it with a little bit of lag.
