First post here on filefront so be cool ppl.

I've recently downloaded the Fakefactory hi res skins and the Cinematic mod. The former I can't use b/c I can't find the materials folder for HL2. The latter I can use but seems to be unstable. I play normally and at no certain point the game crashes with looping sound and I have to cut the power to my computer. I've tried all the methods that Valve support provided and even put the resolution to the lowest level(sad but true) but to no avail.

My computer's specs are (tell me what end this qualifies as low/mid/high) Processor:AMD Athalon 64 dual core 4200+ Vid. Card: Radion x1800GTO 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 (PCI-E) Motherboard: ASUS M2N-E Socket AN2 NVIDIA nForce 570 Ultra MCP ATX AMD (phew) Ram: 1G

The Materials folder is located in C:/Program Files/Valve/Steam/SteamApps/<your username>/half-life 2/hl2 As for the crashing, the Cinematic Mod is much more computer demanding than the original Half-Life 2. With my old Radeon X800, I used to get a lot of stuttering, and I believe that was caused by any Catalyst drivers over 6.6. You may want to try going back to an earlier driver version, that's the first thing I'd try.
