Is there a half life debugging tool or parameter that will make a log file as half life LOADS and RUNS?

If not, could somebody please make one?

I know how to make a multiplayer log In-Game, but I need a GENERAL log. Take the UT2004DEMO log below as an example.

This is the type I need, one that shows EVERY FILE AND FUNCTION the game is trying to do. This log shows the loading of the engine, the intro, and exiting the game.

I am trying to debug my game to see where it goes wrong on my system Typing -toconsole isn't going to help because by that time, the game has loaded. A bug happens BEFORE the game loads! I checked out the task manager while loading, I see Hl.exe in the process list for a split second, then it exits! I checked my registry, and there is no Valve Half life key there. Regedit isn't disabled! Why is it doing this, I don't know. I have all the latest patches (non-steam version) and driver updates, etc but it doesn't work still. I need a log to see what it is doing, and where the error is.

If somebody knows how to make half life to make a log like the UT one below, please reply asap. Thanks.

Thanks, Steam is great, and I have it. I also have the non-steam version of half life (kept the files), but that isn't the point. The point is, I need this log file for debugging.

If somebody knows how to get a log like the UT2004Demo one above, please reply ASAP.

It sure is all in the console, but If u read my problem correctly, u would see that my problem occurs BEFORE the console, where the game stuffs up while loading. It isn't a corrupt installation.

I need a log that shows what the games does when it loads, like the UT2004Demo log above. Maybe somebody could make a program that does it?

Checked the installation directory?

maybe an errors.txt, problems.txt or similar.

Check it.

Maybe Windows can generate a log?

Is there a way to generate a log of all files and registry keys accessed from an application?
