When I have steam on online mode and try to play Half-life2 a message comes up saying that I am going to install Half-life 2 but it is already installed. Why is this happening? I am upgrading to a new pc this week and might just reinstall half life 2 again because counter strike source and half life 2 deathmatch has physics problems because when I shoot an object it takes a second or two to move.
the part about installing half life 2... i dont really know why because it also happens to me several times. what i did was to restart my com.. then it should work. the part on physics problems... it's because your com is lagged. same as me though.
I'm lying when I say trust me

Show us your computer specs, then we can see what the physics lag problem is.
I have an AMD Athlon 2600 @ 2.08GHz, Nvidia quadro 4 980 XGL 128mb 8x AGP, gigabyte motherboard, 1024mb of pc3200 ram, windows xp pro, 48Gb HDD. But next week I am getting an AMD Athlon 64 3500, asus A8n sli mobo, tagan 480W PSU and a nvidia geforce 6800GT PCI-E graphic card with the same HDD and windows xp pro. Another problem is when I start steam and it is updating and I click to view the monitor steam crashes and I have to press ctrl+alt+delete to end it. Does that happen to anyone else? Also I am getting broadband next week too.
dosent happen to me though ... but you are lucky to get a new com... my graphic card is only a Nvidia Geforce2 400 MX/MX.
