I just got the game yesterday for my birthday and I can't play it. I installed everything it asked me if I was above or below 13 yrs old. I put that I was older than 13 and then installed Counterstrike:Source and Half-Life2. On one of the cards that came with the game, it says to play Half-Life2 offline you have to check off "remember my password" when you make your account and to validate your CD Key when prompted during installation. I checked off "remember my password" but was never asked to validate my CD Key. whenever I put the game in the CD Tray, the setup pops up. When I click on "Play Half-Life2" it loads my Steam account. Then when I click on it again, nothing happens. I tried reinstalling it 4 times already and nothing good has happened yet. It just keeps bringing up this screen that gives me options on how to buy the game for 20 dollars more than I bought it for :banghead:.

No, the offline mode is the one I want to play. When I click on Play Half-Life 2, it just doesn't load anything.... It doesn't even give me a pop-up or nothing

i cant take a screenshot of it, the button doesn't work and i don't have a digital camera but its the setup menu that comes up when you first put disk one in the computer after you install it. It says Play Half-Life2 Modify Half-Life2 Installation Visit the Half-Life2 website Visit the Valve website Sierra Technical Support Uninstall Half-Life2 Exit The Technical Support pages didn't help me..... I don't know what kind of video card

To take a screenshot, press the print screen key on your keyboard. Then open up PAINT and paste the image. Save it as either a bmp or jpg (jpg preferred) and upload it here.

I think I know what you are doing wrong... if not forgive me I m just tryin to help...Reason I bring this up is because someone else went thru it. Are you clicking that little icon attachment.php?attachmentid=21122&stc=1 to your lower left? Look at pics.

Hmmm, nevermind, this is only if you are trying to play after inserting the CD. If thew CD is already in the drive and you click the HL2 shortcut icon, it starts the game automatically. Don't mind me i'm tired :)

its still not working, when i double-click on Half-life2 in the "play games" menu after clicking on that icon on the bottom right of the screen, it brings up this window with a bunch of different purchase options for it. when i double-click on the half-life2 shortcut icon on my desktop it does the same thing. when i double-click on the counterstrike:source shortcut icon on my desktop, it brings up the same window, except with options on how to buy counterstrike:source.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:, I'm getting a headache.....
