Well some of you may be aware of the major Veridas hiccup in Australia, and being a member of TeeGee, I was a victim. So we've rerouted our internet through to our friend's house, and last week I took my computer over to his house so I could set up Steam (Since we can't use any apps like that or MSN with the reroute).
Anyway, I start up Steam and eventually, realising it can't connect, brings up the offline/retry dialogue. I pick offline, obviously, and it says "This cannot be performed in offline mode", cleverly hidden behind another box telling me to go to the Steam site.
As far as I know, offline mode only works if you have start up steam fully once. And that it saves all the info on your computer. Due there is an option that "doesn't save any stuff on public computers". If you have ticked that, you are unable to play in offline mode.
Meh, doesn't really matter anymore. I can access Steam now. And I also did try that a few times.
