So, I just got the Orange Box, ja? Team Fortress 2 and Portal run fine, but when I go to play Half-Life 2, I just get so mad because it just keeps randomly crashing! It sometimes occurs at startup during the fuzzy "loading" screen, and at other times crashes during gameplay, most notably at "Loading" points, but not always. I've tried completely reinstalling the Orange Box, but that didn't help. The problem occurred most during the Water Hazard level, or more specifically, that is when it first occurred. Due to the reinstall, I do not have the crashlogs for the Water Hazard level, but I do have a single Crash Log from Chapter 5 (I grew tired and cheated to get past Water Hazard, assuming it was just the level.)
I would copy the crash logs, but they are in C++ for some reason or another. On times when the game minimized during crash (instead of freezing the screen and forcing reboot) it usually gave me an error containing something about dx9. I've updating Direct X to DirectX 9.0c and switched to Omega Drivers, but that hasn't succeeded. I don't know what to do, now.
On another note, when I boot up Half-Life 2, the "Steam Head" video fails to play, it just makes me stare at a partially deformed version of my desktop until I hit ESCAPE. On Portal and Team Fortress 2, this video displays. I'm running the game on full settings (save for AA, which is set to 2x.) If anyone knows a way to help, I really need to know.
Thanks for your time,

Make sure you have the latest drivers for your video car. Try putting Anti-Aliasing off, on a game I had, if it was on, then it would shut down...so maybe thats the problem. Also try setting some other graphics down (Model Detial, Water Reflection, etc)
