1. I'm sure someone will repost Amidala's thread on how to create your own server. If you have a router...read up on the user manual, you WILL need it so that others can see your server. Work on that first. You will need to open ports 29070, 29071, and 29072. Some people may say you need to open other ports, but those 3 ports worked well for me.

Another question is are you using a MOD or are you going basejka? That too can affect how to go about running a home based server. Also make sure you have the JKA 1_01 update. If I recall there is some kind of issue with using the original un-updated version.

2. There is a thread in these forums that guide you through what programs you will need, and tutorials on how to skin.

3. JA+ mod 2.3beta and higher...maybe even 2.2... will allow you to have more 'npc files' in your basefolder.

*sidenote* If possible, rent a server, you'll have a more enjoyable gaming experience with the better connection your players will have do to higher speed internet and better machines ^_^

Enjoy.

1. Check out this page: Running a Jedi Outcast or Jedi Academy server from home. That page tells you how to do it, and that's about as simple as it gets. 2. Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Fireworks MX2004, GIMP... Take your pick. Photoshop and Fireworks are programs you have to buy, GIMP is a free download. I suggest going with GIMP and moving on to PS or FW when you want to go professional. 3. You don't need JA+ to have more NPC files, in fact, JA+ does NOT raise the limit. It doesn't matter about merging pk3s because either way you'll still have the same amount of NPC files if you merge them as you would if you didn't.

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

You don't HAVE to buy Photoshop ;)

Anywho, what I meant before was JA+ will raise the limit of vehicles you can have in your base, but there is also the '99 vehicle mod' or whatever it is.

Fixed. :)
there is also the '99 vehicle mod' or whatever it is.

I'm not even sure 99 Vehicles works with JA+. I mean, I'm not sure I have more than 99 .veh files installed, but if not I sure made a damn good effort. Meh, I'll just clone and slightly edit a few .veh files later and test again.

I've tried the 99 .veh files mod on several systems with no results at all, actually it makes your vehicles dissapear.

Never used it, but I just threw it out there. Yes, I am aware it doesn't work with JA+ ;) I offered it as an alternative :nodding:
