I loved JK2. I liked the nuetral character Kyle in it. But my favorite thing about the game was the code to dismember every person in the game by a saber swing or two. You could even do it after they were already dead, you just slice them to pieces. That was great fun.

Then JK3 comes out and I have heard there are ways to do it, but every thing I have tried fails. Using what I have seen in different ways -

devmapall

g_saberrealisticcombat1

g_saberrealisticcombat 1

g_saberrealisticcombat<1>

g_saberrealisticcombat <1>

g_saberrealisticcombat20

g_saberrealisticcombat 20

g_saberrealisticcombat<20>

g_saberrealisticcombat <20>

or any thing inbetween fails to work for me. I notice there is a dismemberment from time to time, but that is rare and nothing like there was in JK2 with the code. Every kill or swipe of the saber cut some thing off. So what is wrong with this game? Is there no code at all or am I just doing some thing wrong?

To save time on trying to do it yourself, there are some really cool downloads you can try:

Dismemberment http://jediknight2.filefront.com/file/Dismemberment_Mod;40808

If you want more realism (Blood) then get this mod aswell Bloody Dismemberment http://jediknight2.filefront.com/file/Bloody_Dismemberment;24545

(First one has no blood though so if you want any blood then you have to install the first one I linked to, play it a bit, then install the second one I linked to). They work well together.

Thanks for the links.... how ever I tried both 3 and 2 for it and saving the changes in notepad and nothing happened when I started the Jedi Game. It still did not dismember any thing more than before. How did you get this to work exactly? I am computer illiterate so if you could give me easy directions I would appreciate it.

1. Install the file from the first link. 2. DONT CHANGE WHAT IS SAYS IN THE FILE 3. DONT MAKE YOUR OWN VERSION 4. Play the game so that it reconizes the new file, try cutting one of the characters to bits to get this to work. 5. If the above works, close down the game and install the file into the base folder in Jedi Academy directory from the second link in my earlier post to get blood in the game. 6. Try it in the game. 7. Tell me if it works!

(These dont work in multiplayer).

How about these commands?

/g_dismember /cg_dismember

What are they set to?

Al though it was a jumble in note pad I found g_dismember "3". What should it be at if I want to see it like it was in JK2?

And am I just installing the game file from the link you provided into a freshly installed game and new game play or am I suppose to be able to get this to work on a previously installed game and game save?

Also the directions for the file says to put it in the "base folder". Should I put the text into the actual "jaconfig" file?

Edit: I did as you said and installed the file with out even trying to change any thing. Before I did that though I unstalled the old file which I had got from your link to begin with. However it still does not let me do any thing different and as far as I am aware of it should still be at 3.

Sorry for two posts in a row... but it seems that I can not edit old posts after a certain time limit.

Regardless, I keep trying to get that link mod to work and I can not. Am I suppose to use "devmapall" with out the quotes and then inturn type "g_saberrealisticcombat 2" or some thing? If so what?

Or is that mod suppose to just automaticly work with out you having to do any thing? Can I use it using a saved game or do I have to start a new game and or uninstall and then reinstall so it is fresh and then having to reinstall the realistic saber mod?

And Neril I even tried changing the value of "g_dismember "3"" to "g_dismember "2"" and still nothing has changed. I don't understand... JK2 was so simple to do, yet I have yet to do it with JK3. :bawl:

1. You dont need to enter anything in the ingame console. 2. IT DOESNT WORK IN MULTIPLAYER. IT ONLY WORKS IN SINGLEPLAYER!!!! 3. It should work on a previously saved game. It did for me. 4. DONT ENTER ANYTHING IN THE INGAME CONSOLE 5. DONT ENTER ANYTHING IN THE INGAME CONSOLE 6. Read the above 2 instructions!!! 7. It works as soon as you install it. 8. The above instructions are the same for the second link in the previous post.

ok this is how you do it (it works for me) Right click your Jedi Academy's Single Player icon and go to "Properties" Then in the little typing space by where it says "Target" change it to this:

"C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy\GameData\jasp.exe" +set helpusobi 1 +set g_sabermorerealistic 2 that will work in single player

I tried that and a box pops up saying "The name 'C:\Program' specified in the Target box is not valid. Make sure the path and file name are correct."

So that does not work and I know the mod is not suppose to work in Multiplayer. The first time I tried the link mod you provided I did nothing but start a saved game. It was not until after that did I just try to reput the codes in from other web sites which all show the same thing.

I found another link that said to actually put some stuff in the jasp.exe with note pad and for the very first level it worked with me chopping two Storm Troopers in pieces and one Sith as well. (The Howlers did not work but they are probably never meant to to begin with.) But as soon as I get to a stage with more Storm Troopers the mod does not work any more. It says some thign about that code is write protected so it keeps resetting it self. Very bad.

Every one replying to me they seem to have no problems... come to think of it were their multiple versions of the same game? And could me not having the game it self "updated" be a problem? Are there even updates for the game?

Thanks for every ones time and patience but I still can not get this to work.
