I'm new to JK3. I used to be really into JK2. Sold it to eb games a while ago, but just got into JK3. Mostly because I wanted the new variety of sabers. Well I dont know if it's the game, the JA+ mod, the servers, or what. But if you aren't using single saber Red stance, you aren't using anything because you're lying on the ground in pieces. Where's the balance? I got JK3 to use duals/staff because they're cool and fun. I like to use a Darth Maul model with red saberstaff to be like in the movies, its cool. I get twice as many kills with single red stance but I still want to use the duals/staff. Single saber is not fun to me because I played JK2 for a year. I find myself not able to enjoy the stuff that brought me to JK3 in the first place. So what is it? Am I just playing on crap servers or is the game like this?

I love the staff, they say it takes no skill, but you have to move in and out fast to hit so you don't take the massive damage from the red swings, but the really expierenced single saber users can counter most of the staff moves, and have an incredible timing on those red swings.

So the Single Saber Red Stance is still highly effective? That's my personal face style AND saber type, so... although I had heard that Single-sabers were utterly useless now.

Sidenote, twin-sabers just feel akwards to me, and the Staff/Polearm saber... well, I'm a veteran SWG player, nearly all the Jedi on there use the Polearm saber because it's the only one that's actually good in Player vs Player, so I'm pretty sick and tired of it.

If you can become skilled with the staff you can be very difficult to beat even against a skilled red saber user. In my oppinion the single saber doesnt take as much time and practice to master as the staff does. All saber styles can be very good if you keep practicing them over and over again. I use the single and the staff alot and like them both in their own way.

Practice makes perfect I suppose. I'll stick with just the staff for a while and see how it turns out. Are there any faq's that give tips for the staff online?

If you seek to learn the basics of how to perform each move then check out this site www.jedimoves.com and once your there you will find a link called stances. It will show you how to do moves for all saber styles.

I know all the moves and stuff, I was looking for something detailing a general strategy. Staff vs. Red Dual vs. Staff etc. type strategies.

Dont be lazy, go duel, thats the only way to improve. Most people get beaten by red users because they are too dumb to know when to evade your enemy.

The best method against staff if you are using Single is to attack then jump away because staff will kick your ass up close same with duel but when you keep your distance they don't stand a chance. Personally I use all stance of single, but I also use duals sometimes.
