Aha... ok, I apologize then, I hadn't realised there was a misunderstanding, I will try to be clearer in the future.
my point was merely that the moderators are an integral part of the community, as they keep the community functioning properly. i understand how my post could have been misinterpreted rather easily though. maybe i should have been a bit more clear about how i meant what i said, but at 3am it's not as easy as you'd think... lol

reallyreallyboredI believe the reason for his bannage is because he just doesnt know when to stop, not because he was attacking a mod or attacking the community. But for despair, i guess he was expecting it, i think he gets a kick from getting banned.
You're right on both accounts. GoldJedi was only temporarily banned. We used to call these kind of bannings "warnings", as they give the recipient a chance to reflect on their offense and, hopefully, return to the community as a contributing member, rather than a nuisance. Despair on the other hand has no purpose but to cause trouble. He has a long history with us, and he has pushed the envelope too far on many occaisions. As for the bootlicking, I don't think many people here are really trying to kiss up, unless they're under the misguided idea that it will somehow benefit them... ;)
I would say that ur motive, like many others in this thread, is quite clear.
my motive? dude, you think i need to suck up to moderators? to be honest, i culdn't care less what they think of me. if i wanted to suck up to moderators, i would have said 'these moderators are the bestest bestest people in the world!!!' or something dumb like that.
Keep up the good work moderators!
i said that because they are doing a good job...
PS: Nice siggy, Inyri!
what? it was a nice sig... last time i checked complimenting someone for doing a nice sig wasn't sucking up, it was recognising nice work.
InyriAs for the bootlicking, I don't think many people here are really trying to kiss up, unless they're under the misguided idea that it will somehow benefit them...
Inyri I treat everyone the same. For instance, I don't like you that much but I treat you with the same level of respect I would treat, for instance, Trauma Sensei who I adore. I try not to let sucking up get the better of me
they show patience and fairness all round
Inyri already said that sucking up was pointless, as it won't make a difference. and i said that the mods don't favour anyone over anyone else, therefore if i did try to suck up, i'd be contradicting myself. which would have been dumb... i understand how you could have interpreted my comments as sucking up though, so i can't blame you for thinking that. no offence intended here, just wanted to clear that up.
I define "motive" in this context as the real reason under a person's post. Looking at that reply u gave, im starting to wonder whether any of you actually "look" at an arguement instead of just swaying with the one who says "IM CORRECT THEREFORE I AM".
ok ok let's not fight here, there's no reason to. my motive in my initial post was to explain some stuff about being a moderator, and how (in my experience) mods are integral to the community. the reason for my second post is an attempt at clearing up a misconception, and the reason for my third post was to counter any argument that i may be sucking up to the mods and admins. so those are my reasons for posting, hope that cleared up any impression that i was sucking up. let's not make a big deal of this, since it's nothing to make a big deal out of. reallyreallybored just interpreted my post as sucking up, which is ok, because different people interpret things in different ways. and besides, i don't want to spark off an argument. i'm a man of peace, i'm done killing (at least until the next UT game comes out :naughty: ).
