It's still illegal either way, and when you installed your games, you explicitly agreed not to do it.

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

You can ask permission from the makers of the game though to use it, like what Psyk0Sith did with the AVP2 predator.

Chances are though you either:

(A) Not get a reply, or (B) They will say no.

Well, if it's not commercially available or shared, I think you should technically be alright.

It's illegal regardless of whether or not you can still buy the game.

Remember, the developers still legally own all the materials, so you have no rights to do anything with them whatsoever unless the game's EULA sanctions it.

I have yet to see a single EULA which permits porting under any circumstances, and the EULA which everyone agrees to without even reading is a legally binding document. So, you're never "alright" to port materials, technically or otherwise.

Why are you asking that here if you never intend to distribute or share it? Nobody cares what you do isolated at home. Nobody would even know.

I bet the EULAs also forbid you from playing the game with both eyes open, unless you bought two copies...

The EULAs are there to protect the profits of the companies. Consumers should protect their own profits, or lets say the level of fun they can derive from the products.
