Ok, I'm normally a mild mannered guy, but this has finally irritated me.
I am fed up of this "no laming rule" when will people learn that the moves included in the game, force powers, ground stab, kicking, etc were all put in the game to be used, and therefore should not be considered laming.
In addition, JKA was designed to be a FPS style game, not a chat engine, if you wanna talk, use msn or similar :nodding:. While I agree that one should not go around fragging people who are Away from keyboard cos they need to let the cat out, or want to comment on what a good opponent someone is etc, Some ppl take it to the extreme, talking for hours on end. (WHY!!!?)
Furthermore, I was called a "lamer noob" recently, because I snuck up behind someone using force mind trick and stabbing them in the back. Surely I am not alone in thinking that I am just using smart tactics?
As a side note to any game developers out there who are considering making a further JK episode (I realise this is not likely but what the hey). PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't give any ability to remove things like force powers or weapons from a game. What is the point? If there is merit to a weapon or force power, players should be given the choice at their own discretion whether to use it or not. That way, we would get to see the wide range of well thought tactics and skills which are so often blocked from use.
I feel better already.
If anyone has agreement, please post, if anyone feels they would like to challenge my perspective, I welcome a good argument.
My only problem with "laming"/"no laming" rules is that people seem to bitch and whine about them all the time. Sure, usually they have a point. Some server doesn't play FFA/Duel like they like it to. OMGWTFh4x it's the Apocalypse! But seriously, the only problem is the people who can't distinguish between FFA and Duel Challenge servers. I bet you were in an FFA server when you were called a "lamer noob", right Humble? Wouldn't surprise me. Personally, I'm a duelist. But I can't stand all this anti-FFA crap. Those little whiny kids who go into FFA servers thinking they're "1337", then cry "n00b" just because someone beat them, really make me sick. It's no wonder people regard duelling as the "path of t3h nubs". Stupid litte turds. Giving the rest of us a bad rep...
I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.
Actually, I was on a FFA server, incidentally. One without force enabled I hasten to add *sigh*
I agree with you Humble jedi, the no laming rule stinks.
I get lamed alot and I have learned not to whine. But it is very low of people to attack others with their chat bubbles up. Yes it wasn't designed to be a chat system but not a laming system either. That is why it is called "multi player" where people can talk with others. Don't lame.
Its not laming to kill somone who is chatting. People seem to forget that if you click you respawn.

Multiplayer does not mean that you can talk with others =0 Multiplayer usually refers to a pc/console game that can be played with other people over a network. If you want to chat on JA go to a JA+ server or something, but do not expect not to be "lamed" on a real FFA server because there is no such thing as "laming" on those servers. If you do not want to be lamed simply stick to servers you know that have anti-laming rules.
I heard about laming in the past few months here and so when I finally tried MP a few days ago, I went straight to a laming allowed FFA server. It was fun, but since I'm a complete newbie to MP gaming in general, I got like 5-6 kills after 45 minutes. And they were all just playing too, no "turning JA into MSN" crap! It was fun, but what I really want is a Hydroball server. :(
There are laming allowed FFA servers?! Could somone give me the IP to an unmodded laming allowed FFA server?
It was called Lame-O-Rama or something. Don't have the IP right now. But it was fun. Wanton death and destruction is always popular for me in games. I'd hate to see myself playing GTA...
