Firstly, I'd like to say that while this may be a late response, I'd assumed that most of you had seen the announcement. If not, well, the announcements box appears at the top of every forum, above the sticky threads. Might wanna check it every now and then.

Anyway, recently, many have been wondering why a lot of threads show with no posts in them. Please read this thread, or rather, post #3. n0e explains that all posts before October 2005 were archived in order to prevent forum crashes. Whether or not this was actually necessary, I have no idea, since I'm not privy to information such as hardware specifications or networking setup in the FF datacenter, but if the forums crashed because the database got too big... God help the network, our database is way bigger than the forum one.

*ahem* Anyway, all the posts were placed into the archive, but the archive does not work as someone decided to install a vBSEO plugin which is not only an obsolete product, but also fugged up several forum features.

Due to these factors, many threads are now rendered non-existant. Several important threads have fallen victim to this too. The Tutorials & Tools thread was hit by this, but that was considered a Priority 1.

I'm currently working to restore the major threads, however, because of the forum archive not working, it's hard to find any cached version of the threads from when they existed, and any threads I can't find cached versions of are gone. Forever.

I'd love to be able to restore everything, but that'll take a couple of years. At least. So, I'm only working at the important stuff.

Rest assured I'm going to discuss with n0e the necessity of vBSEO in the hopes of getting it removed - because it is flippin' useless - so that the archive will function properly. I'm also going to bring up the archiving of the posts, and see if I can't help find a solution where the posts can be restored without destabilising the forums, but that's really in the tech team's jurisdiction.

Until then, though, please try and refrain from spamming my PM inbox and posting anything stupid and/or consisting primarily of curse words. It's not going to help fix the problem, the only thing it's going to do is give me a headache; and I get grumpy when I have a headache, so not bitching and whining will be mutually beneficial for all of us.

Sorry, but enough is enough....

Y'all have a good day now. :)

(PS: If anyone has the contents of missing sticky threads stored or cached somewhere, please do repost them. It'll make things go much smoother. Inyri, I'm looking at you especially, since you wrote half of them in the first place. =p )

You can keep up on forum announcements by checking this subforum, which is where all the latest forum happenings are announced.

Also, we encourage you to step out into the wide world of FileFront Forums, we got more than just the JK Series section. ;)

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.
