I first bought JK3 back when it came out and at the time there were tonnes of servers to play. Now, when I found my discs again and installed, I found that there were no good servers available (not to mention there were under 50 servers overall). I remember that this game used to be so kickass and fairly popular. It's a shame that people seemed to have forgotten it :(

A lot of people host private servers. Any other server you see is probably a clan server. The game is still running, just not nearly as popular as before. Join a clan server to find some action.

There are more than 50 servers running, though. Check your filters.

I run a private server, and I get maybe a visitor every week or two. Yup, that's about it. Why do I still run it? I want a place to test things I'm working on with other people. Plus it's 1337.

Did you update your game to 1.01?

Last time i checked there were at least several hundred servers up and plenty of em with people on it.

As Seto said, ensure you updated to v1.01, otherwise you'll only see v1.00 servers, which would explain why you only found so few.

I guess I should post my reply here, instead of the other one. The servers are worse than before, yes - I only found a few that matched my likes. I really dislike the fact that there are huge conversion mods for JKA, such as lugormod, makermod, and clanmod. But, on the other hand, JA+ and rpmod ain't that bad either... But in overall, I wish there were more servers than there are, at the moment.

Probably will just reduce in number since JKA was released 6 years ago most of the fun it used to have is gone. In my opinion its a dying game.

Every game 'dies' sooner or later, true. The game's pretty old, and I think, that if people would invest more effort, and activity (especially server admins), the whole line of servers will go up again. I'm not sure, but I think it would help. The admins determine the activity of a server after all...

From my experience its just not the number of servers in the past few years the community of JKA has changed. A prime example is the Base community: It used to consist of players on the more skilful side of JKA and have fun tffa's, tournaments etc and esl (Electronic Sports League) used to be the main thing where you would find JKA's best of the best. Now Base is filled with arrogant gits who say they don't take JKA seriously but actually take it more seriously than anyone else and all they do is use exploits. Most of the people who were actually skillful on Base have already quit.

And now on JA+ its filled with admins who believe they are important people as if they were the dictatorship of a country and that all must follow there laws. Good example is laming, it is blown way out of proportion on most JA+ (And other modded) servers. Newcomers to the game would not know what hit them, but for some reason on Base where rcon is the only form of admin laming isn't really an issue. I believe having admin just gets to some peoples heads making them feel all powerful. But anyway many on all mods have forgotten that JKA is just a game and meant to be fun.

But this is going really far off topic and I aplogise for hijacking this thread lol
