Hello all...

Quick question(s) here with some detail added for flavor (please forgive if this is in the wrong section here)...

I have recently gotten back into playing JA and I am now on a MP learning curve. Now my question is about Spawning Bots in MP. I do know the command line is:

\addbot (nickname) (character) (1-5) 1 (team)

Ok here is my problem. I have absolutely know idea what some of the "parts" of this line refer too. Could someone be so kind as to pick this line appart for me and define what each section relates to in game? For instance...

- Nickname/Character: What is the Nickname and how is it differant from the "Character" part? Is it the "name" you give to the toon? Is the Character the name of the model?

- Team: This is self explanatory. However, what if its a duel and not TFFA or CTF? What do you put in then? In fact, can this be set to "Random" instead of a specific team?

Ok my purpose of this is to have a specific selection of 30 Skins/models and have them all listed in a .exec file. This way I am able to just load the .exec file in MP and get all bots a rollin' at once, without having to use the in game selector, one at a time. This will also allow me to make "theme" bot spawns such as a all female group or a all Jedi/Sith one...

My main aim is to use this for CTF, but I also plan on making some for Duel's & FFA's. Oh an yes, I have spent a day or so already researching this subject in Google as well as the forums here (search engine an all). So far some good info on bot routes and of course this command line, but zip on any detailed specifics on the subject (any tutorials on bot spawning in MP by chance also?)...

So any an all help here would be greatly appreciated as I have heard that the JA community knows there stuff...

Thanks...

Just go

"Addbot rebel" in the console. The other stuff is optional.

Rebel is just a random bot, but I use him.

Hey, another question(s) here :).

I am using JA+ for all my MP servers but have now been playing with running dedicated servers via the .bat file itself. However I am unsure of a few things. The main one is how do I run a dedicated server on my PC (via the .bat file) while at the same playing on said server from the same PC?

Is it as simple as using the dedicated server .bat file and then using the "play_japlus.bat" file afterwards? Or do I have to configure my main JA.exe shortcut for a different port (I have read here about ports being used)? If so, what port do I use specifically and what is the "command line" (one I can add to the shortcut .exe path?)?

Ohh one more side question.

If I was to run a dedicated server using the jampDed file instead of the JA+.bat file, what would the command line be for loading up JA+ from it?

Thanks.

1.) You can/should be able to join your server from the LAN list or Internet list (LAN is easier to find ;P). Your game might auto-exec your ja+ settings (like mine used to ;P) which would require no effort or you could use a .cfg file. No You do not have to edit your JA.exe. 2.) It is pretty much the same as using the .bat file, but I believe the command line is something like "fs game" japlus or something. I would have to reinstall my game and put ja+ on there to remember since i haven't played it in like 2 months and have basically quit >_>. Hope this helps. GL :cya:

Thanks for the tips :).

Things are working right now an I am able to see the server in the LAN list just fine. However yet again I do have a question or two lol. While I have been able to add bots to the game not all will show up (I get a "bot not defined" error, though from what I can tell it is quite defined and accurate looking at the bot file). Is there by chance a limit of sorts to how many bots the game can read at once, much like how many vehicles it can read without issues?

In fact, while adjusting some bot files so the bots use a specific saber (IE: Dooku using his own saber), I have noticed much the same problem. Some sabers will show up and others will not (setting kyles saber as the replacement of course) and again the files look right. Are there a limit to saber's in MP as well? Yes, I do have many skins and sabers in my base folder but that should not be an issue in MP from what I have learned (other than selecting them in the Profile obviously).

Any thoughts?

Anyways, thanks again for the help :mihailhatesu:.
