Since i got this game i thought id have so much fun in ffas but those damn cryers who shout lamer as soon as they die completely ruin everything. So i've been playing seige, and ctf, just wondering what you guys think is the best multiplayer mode.

Siege is by far the best multiplayer game type. Followed closely by CTF, and then I guess TFFA. Siege: Kill anything that moves. Achieve your objectives, or prevent the other team from completing theirs, use strategy, and every resource available to you. The perfect blend of saber, guns, and force. CTF: Kill anything that moves. Defend your flag, steal the other teams flag, chase down flag carriers. Most CTF servers are gun servers. So warm up that trigger finger ^_^ TFFA: Not a gun lover? Well certain TFFA's may do it for ya. Kill anything that moves, engage your opponent 1 on 1, or 1 vs. many, or my person preference...me vs. many. Great way to sharpen your FFA skills, your timing, and your ability to pwn! For siege feel free to join my siege server. Currently #1 for fun, and the only place you'll find any talent as we co-host (and I also being a member of) the <Áß> siege clan. Server name .................AoF Inferno Server IP 126.96.36.199:29070 For TFFA feel free to join in on my server and ask us to switch it to TFFA. Keep in mind only a few select people can do so. Currently #1 in training and dueling skills. Server name .................AoF Recruiting Server IP 188.8.131.52:29070 Also feel free to visit us at http://s6.invisionfree.com/angels_of_fire Hope to see you, and many others around ^_^ ~IrishDragon Leader/Founder of the AoF clan

That is exactly what I tried to warn you would happen in your other thread http://forums.filefront.com/showthread.php?t=207609
"Real FFA" is all but dead in Jedi Academy. 99% of so-called "Free For All" servers in Jedi Academy are really multiple-dueling salons and chatrooms. If you want to play "real Free For All" the only remaining servers I know of are

Jedi Academy EscapedTurkey.com|basejka|188.8.131.52:29070
The two ForceMod III servers require ForceMod III http://www.pcgamemods.com/6404/ and the 1.01 patch for ForceMod III http://www.pcgamemods.com/9136/ but it is well worth the download, and at least one of those two servers always has people on them.
The problem is that although there are a few servers left, most (but not all) of the players who like traditional deathmatch FFA (the way all other similar games are played) have been driven out of or disgusted by what goes on in most JA "FFA" servers and left for other games long ago. So while there are a handful of "real" FFA servers, there are few players left to play on them.
That's why I told you in your other thread to trade in your game for Battlefront or Republic Commando if you want to play a real Star Wars "shooter". Most "FFA" servers in JA have been taken over by chatting, emoting, grapple-shooting, sitting around, doing nothing, only-lightsaber-using crybabies.
As to which gametype is "the best", it depends on what appeals to you. I like CTF because it is full-weapon, full-Force, all-kills-legal, fast-paced, and team-based. You use the game to its fullest (all weapons, all Force powers, wallrunning, strafejumping, using all of the maps instead of one part for reserved for dueling, another part for "RPG", another part for "chilling", another for "admins only", etc.) and there is a lot of strategy and teamwork.
However, the problem with CTF is there is a very steep learning curve. There is a very big gap between the most elite CTF players and the newbies. The most elite JA CTF players have being playing nothing but CTF for hours a day, every day since the game came out. Many of them also played (and play) JK2 CTF, and other Quake III CTF games before that. It can be very frustrating for a CTF newbie to be owned over and over again by the elite players, and losing 10-0 in 10 minutes can be pretty depressing. But if you are tough-skinned and eager to learn, they will show you the ropes. I have seen total newbies develop into elites, but it takes time and it's hard and challenging (as opposed to chatting, emoting, and spamming grip-kick on g_forceregentime 0 servers). If you want to learn more about CTF go here http://www.chopshopservers.com/education/index.htm
The great thing about CTF is that you can really help your team even if you are not a great player. If you do nothing more than maximize Team Heal or Team Energize and use it on your teammates (especially your flag carrier) as often as possible, they will love you. If you just stay in your base and kill any member of the other team that comes close to it, they will praise you.
Regular Siege is limited by the number of maps and certain glitches and exploits in those maps. But Movie Battles II http://www.moviebattles.com is an enhancement of Siege with more classes, an improved saber combat system, and more maps. If you want to play Siege, check it out.
If you want to try lightsaber-only dueling, try real Duel servers running Bladeworks mod (not "FFA dueling" servers using JA+ mod).
Good luck. You can still find some good games in Jedi Academy, but you have to know where to look.

IrishDragonNot a gun lover? Well certain TFFA's may do it for ya. Kill anything that moves, engage your opponent 1 on 1, or 1 vs. many
actually its just 1 vs many, you cant duel in tffa. siege (not moviebattles) is really a good mix of guns, saber and force. It takes skill to kill gunners with saber. And you gotta be fast. But the best proven way to gain skillz for ffa, tffa and dueling would be duel rooms. Do not duel in ffa rooms (dunno it jsut doesnt seem to work). Go to any duelroom@BWN especially when there are dox or wovian guys (wovian is the best duel and tffa clan), believe me, in these duel rooms the only guys that get the boot are the cryers. Gain some skills and pwn those cryers in ffa when the admin sleeps.
Yeah, if only people realized ffa isn't a friggin chat room, wouldnt be suprised if people started having cyber in there. I really don't like cryers though cause there flat out stupid. They bitch and moan but never think to change there saber type, force move slection, or the keys they have things on. Me for instance i don't suck but im getting better and when it comes to force i keep "e" and "f" on choke, or push and it really helps alot.

1.01 seems to be full of players on the extreme end of things (1337ness, cryness etc etc). 1.00 is really quite balanced. If you want a good unmodded way-it-was-meant-to-be-played ffa, go to 1.00 (dedicated servers). If there isnt an admin, GO WILD, they dont stand a chance. If there is an admin present, just ask politely if anyone would like to start a brawl away from the duelers, a few ppl are always willing to comply.
