Hey all, Happy new year! I am so thankful that my return has been welcomed so much and its been great getting in touch with a lot of peeps I used to konw from before!

So Mos kreetle is released and Coruscant streets, and the Lars Homestead are close behind, so I would like to know what next big FFA map you would like to see in 2009! I want to get away from V2's of any of my previous maps as I already plan several of those, so I am talking something new and fresh but based on a location from the Star Wars movies, including the Clone wars and the TV show and perhaps even the Kotor series!

So let me know, I will read through the thread to see what is most popular choice and will start work on it right away.

Cheers SJC.

Off the top of my head, I'd say the Coruscant underground station (from chapter 24 of "Clone Wars", where Shaak Ti & Co battle Grievous & MagnaGuards) would make for a cool map. Moving undegrounds that would insta-kill upon contact would give it a nice touch. Plus, it would be suited for RP as well, I guess. The building seems to be made of glass mostly, so there's the possibility of variations (day and night).

EDIT: Oh, I just read your post again and got aware of the little word "big". So scrap the undergound idea. New idea: The streets of Harnaidan as seen in "Clone Wars" chapters 2 & 3.

I'd like to see you move outside your (and everyone else's) comfort zone and map something beyond the expected, but that wouldn't be popular. ;)

well I am open to creating something original and nothing to do with star wars - popular is not always cool ;)

If your considering something less "star-wars-ee," how about Troy from the 2005 movie?

I've included reference images for three possible map areas:

Beachhead:

Day/night versions would look great also.

I guess the question is: what would enjoy doing the most?

a) Taking some detailed reference pictures / videos and trying to re-create the subject as good as possible.

b) Taking some rather sloppy depictions (like in the "Clone Wars" cartoons) and then trying to build your take on a realistic version.

c) Taking a written description of landscape / architecture (from some piece of literature) and creating your interpretation as a map.

d) Designing something completely of your own.

(That's all I could come up with, at any rate.)

Random map ideas:

1. TARDIS interior 2. Shaun of the Dead map (london based map with a zombie feel to it, lol) 3. Star destroyer consctruction plant from 'The Force Unleashed'. 4. Map based off whatever your home town may be with 'a little star wars mixed in'. Hey. At least its a somewhat original idea.

Yet another idea: One of the bridge cities of Cato Neimodia. You only get a short and distant glimpse on one in ROTS and there isn't much official artwork for them to be found, so there's much room for personal interpretation. And it's an interesting setting for a map, I guess.
