JA+ mod. I hate this mod beyond belief it adds nothing to the game (except admins with too much power) A simple kick or ban would do. Does anyone else agree that veterened players are shunted out of big servers due to rookie admins who piss about with empower slap slay etc... A good example of a mod is Movie battles, which makes the game different doesn't give admins too much power and looks like effort has gone into it. Post your opinions
Movie Battles does rock. but i can't play it on my mac so i've stoped JA completly :(
i hated playing on servers with the JA+ mod when i was playing. the stupid butterflys if your close enough to the person.
indeed, JA+ mod used to piss me off immensely (along with every other admin mod). Since I started playing moviebattles2 I havn't looked back, in comparison normal JKA (base or modded) is shallow and unforfilling, moviebattles requires mastery of all the skills in JKA, both saber & gunner oriented (it totally reworks saber combat!!), it also requires battle tactics, and most importantly teamplay - something base siege mode totally lacked.
I recommend every reader of this forum try it out, it realy IS that good! http://www.moviebattles.com
MB2 is to JKA what CS was to HL.
Awesome, I'll have to test that mod out.
My clan at the moment is using the plain and simple Jedi Academy: Reloaded mod, and it works for us. :)
Meh, the extra admin powers dont bother me much. If someone abuses them, then it is not a good server to play on.
I really should play movie battles more...
Isn't it belong to the Rants and Raves forum?
BTW, I only play siege_destroyer, the only map worth playing (besides, I totally own in it)

I'd still be playing JA if i could play movie battles. but because of some technical reason i'll never understand i cant on my mac.

Urgh...a Mac... One thing I find they are really not good for is games :P
no...if i didnt have a lower-end one i'd be able to play lots of great games. just...not the MBII mod because it JA uses this..file...thing i can't do something with on a mac :/
CorToSiSRoSE,
Dont' quote me on this, but I've been contacted by redasarus - who says that the JA SDK for Mac's has been released, and what's more he's gonna take it upon himself to make the Mac version of MBII.
...I'll send him the code once the next build is ready. So who knows - soon you may be able to play MBII after all ;)
I'm not gonna announce it officially though till I know for sure - but it certainly sounds hopeful...
