Hopefully someone can help me with this. A few days ago, I downloaded a mod intended to let me play through the game as Darth Maul, as well as using his saber hilt. But after four days of brainstorming and trolling the internet like a maniac, I've been unable to get it working. To the best of my understanding I've followed the install procedure. All the files have been moved to this location. C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars JK II Jedi Outcast\GameData\base

They're all been unzipped. I downloaded WinZip specifically for that purpose. Still, nothing shows up in the Mods section of the game, and I'm still running around as boring old Kyle.

If anyone would be so kind as to suggest what I might do to fix this problem, please don't be shy. Because if this keeps up, I'll be sending my emails from a rubber room.

Jedi Knight 2 Classic Files - Darth Maul

This is the place I originally got it from. It's looking now like the lightsaber hilt is working, but I really couldn't say how it got like that. What I'm really interested in is playing as Darth Maul, which is the part that still refuses to work.

This specific mod is for Multiplayer.. Thats y! it's intended for multiplayer not single Filename:Model_Maul_"MP".zip

Well see, that goes to show how much I know about mods, or computers in general for that matter. I'm just glad to find out before I kidnapped a techie. Don't suppose anybody would know a Darth Maul mod for single player?

you could always try typing /model Model_Maul_MP in single player. I'm not sure if that's the name of the model though, but it's worth a shot.

EDIT: acctually, scratch what I just said, I found a link to a SP maul mod: SP Darth Maul, Jedi Knight 3 Downloads, Jedi Knight 3 Mini-Mods

Thank you very much! Whilst online, I've downloaded and tried a couple more Darth Maul mods, both of which worked....but neither of which let me BE him. So I really hope this one does what it looks like it does. I really appreciate the help.

It works! But wouldn't you know it, there's a problem. Maul's lightsaber is now on his left side, which is no big deal, right? Well....it stays there. I can extend it, but it remains holstered at Maul's side while he swings and slices with nothing in his hands. What's more, the game has taken to freezing and crashing after about a minute of play.

This is all probably a stupid mistake on my part again, but any advice would be GREATLY appreciated. I'm starting to think this whole undertaking is a lost cause.

It usually crashes with an overload of memory (.eg to many stormtroopers firing at u) Try pressing "Shift+`/tilde (key next to "1") and type in "devmap pit" This map has basically no memory whatsoever and is great for testing out NPC's and vehicles :) Good Luck!

Thanks for the code. It looks interesting. However, the game has never crashed before, and only rarely slows down(maybe 20 enemies on screen). After taking a short break, I went back to the game and noticed something interesting. Not only is Maul's lightsaber on his left side, but so are all the other weapons. For instance, if you take out a grenade/blaster/mine and switch to third person view, it will be floating in the general area of Maul's left thigh instead of being held firmly in his right hand. It looks really strange, as you'd imagine, but I think it's also what's causing the game to crash. So it seems like that either there's a glitch in the mod, or something's wrong on my end.

Thoughts?
