Obviously Photoshop is going to be better than gimp, because it's paid software. However for something simple like JKA skinning, I doubt you're really going to notice much of a difference in what it's capable of. Most of the features it's lacking aren't features you're going to need.

I think photoshop is easier to use too. So inyri, what's your personal favourite?

I prefer GIMP, but I still use photoshop for applying some visual effects, and pre-made alpha channels. It all depends on which one you're more comfortable with: there are lots of similarities.

The Gimp cuz its linux comaptible. :-)

But really, photoshop. It's cuz ive had years of experiance.
