lol can we get some sophisticated discussion here? i believe the "mature" label on a video game means something. someone who lacks the maturity to play (for instance a 7 year old) will go around and pretend to shoot people like in the game, thus the game just told him that really shooting people is fun. a mature player knows the difference between the game and reality. i think violent games are with all means ok, as long as parents dont act dumb and buy their elementary school kid games with a mature rating.

Glad to see that someone knows what they're talking about, and yes, I agree. I also think that people with mental problems shouldn't play these either (no offense of course) because well, they have problems.

I do agree though, but unfortunly when bad parenting fails, they find a scapegoat, such as the GTA and other such stuff, its quite sad if you ask me.

there's always the kid here and there who plays a shooting game and then goes to school and blows his teacher's head off, but the truth is that they use video games in mental wards as therapy for extremely violent patients. There's been a number of studies that indicate that playing video games greatly reduces violent urges, dating all the way back to the atari 2600 days. I know after i get caught doing 55 in a 35, get a $150 ticket, and have to stand outside my car while cops ramble through it with the k-9 dog, i feel like blowing some cops heads off....but after i take my agressions out on the cops in a gta game, i feel a little bit better. these games reflect our culture, sadly..............but i dont think our culture reflects these games. the only thing i didnt really care for was the ethnic references. they should have came up with different names for the gangs other than cubans and hatians
