I'm doing a weird thing in the Taris Undercity right now - I've gotten obsessed with helping the Outcasts prepare for their journey to the Promised Land.

This happened when I thought to myself, hey, I've found the three journals showing the way to the Promised Land - but how the hell are those ragged Outcasts going to survive the long journey??? They'll be slaughtered by the first band of rakghouls they run into! Just like Davik's men were when Canderous led nine of them into the Undercity and only one of them survived, even with Canderous' help.

All they've got to fight with is the stuff Igear has got in his store - and there's not enough weapons there to equip the whole village!

So I decided to help them out by making sure they had enough weapons and armour to equip a dozen guards plus Gendar as commander - making sure each guard had a set of armour, a blaster, and a melee weapon. They ended up with:

1 set light battle armour (Gendar) 3 sets medium armour 3 heavy combat suits 6 combat suits 1 Arkanian heavy blaster (Gendar) 10 blaster pistols (2 people can have 2 blasters each) 4 blaster rifles 1 vibrosword (Gendar) 10 long swords 2 short swords 1 vibroblade 6 vulkar shock sticks

With that lot, they'd at least have a fighting chance against a typical band of half a dozen rakghouls!

Most of the stuff was taken from dead Vulkars and Sith troopers. Now, selling it to the Outcasts via Igear meant I only got half the price I would have gotten from Larrim iin the Upper City, but hey, I'm doing a good deed, I'm not in this for the credits.

Anyone else done something like this?

I never bothered doing such things myself; at least, not with the Taris Undercity/Outcasts ones. I always had the idea they were poor and defenseless and enjoyed the thought, so I left it as-is. ;)

You heartless dark-side person, you...... You probably sold the three journals to Igear so he could destroy them, didn't you?

Yeah, I did. Pretty much every time - save one or so - as I prefered the beneficial way. :)

Just for the sake of overkill, you could also give them plenty of thermal detonators, or whatever grenades you happen to have. Out of all of the outcasts, there has to be SOMEONE stealthy enough to use these to great effect. To think ahead, I would also give them ALL of the rakghoul serum I have left. :KTA:

Yes - the Outcasts already have 5 frag grenades in Igear's shop, and more would help. Never found a thermal detonator on Taris, though. Selling them a stealth field belt would also make sense.

I preferred to keep my frag grenades because I'm going to use them to beat Calo Nord and Davik, just pelt them with frags until they're beaten (they're too good in a straightforward shootout.)

I get my thermal detonators from the merchant just outside my apartment. They can also be found in the Sith Base. Almost all of the other grenade types can be found all over Taris. Just to make sure that you have plenty of weapons to give the outcasts, I would suggest waiting until just before you go on your final mission (the one to confront Davik). Only then should you turn in all three journals. As for Calo Nord and Davik, they favour shootouts. As a result, they can be easily beaten down if you have a good enough sword. If you do this, just make sure that you use your teammates to keep attacking. This should keep Calo Nord and Davik too distracted to take much notice of you, especially if they’re all in a shootout (instead of hand to hand combat). These are just my opinions. Everyone has their own unique way of doing things.
