I am looking for a new game & was wondering about KOTOR. I had heard that KOTOR is more of an RPG & was wondering about that. I personally do not like those types of games (athough the new online Galaxies was pretty cool). How is the gameplay?? Are battles like they are in JA & JO or is it turn based like most RPG's?? Or is it like the Zelda games for the N64?? Sorry for so many questions, but I appreciate your responses.

It's not like Ja/Jo it's not like zelda, It has its own style, select your attack, level up your character, equip weapons through the equip screen, conversation options available, lots of quests (though there should have been more) nice storyline, nice light/dark system, cool enemies etc....... It's really an awesome game, I'd recommend you buy it.....
You don'tnow how it is before you have played it, but it is not a shooter, now you are warned
The fighting is sort of semi turn based. There are many characters that travel with you through out the game and you can only take 3 with you at a time when going out to do you missions. The others stay on your ship. So when your fighting you select the string of attacks that you want to use on the enemy and its all real time, your not actually taking turns. The fighting is kind of fast paced so you'll usually be busy juggling all of your characters and giving them commands, and even though they won't attack as soon as you press the button like in JA and JO they will still happen alot faster then in a turn based style rpg. I'm explaing it kind of badly but you should give it shot. I hate turnstyle and I was even a little discouraged when I started playing this game but I got into eventually and now I love this game.
Jettyyour not actually taking turns.
Actually, yes you are. It's not like Pokemon where you can just sit there for enternity without attacking, but you are in fact taking turns. It's just if you waste your turn by running around in a circle, the enemy automatically gets to attack again.
yeah but all of your party memebers can attack at the same time or in their own time. Its not like Lord of the rings the Third age where only one member of the party attacks at once.
