I typically use single or dual lightsaber, or the biggest gun I can muster. Swords/vibroweapons simply don't have the power to cut it. But a good blaster at your side.... ;)

K1: Swords first, then lightsabers later. There's no point in focusing on blasters during the first part of the game--just a waste of feats, if you ask me. K2: Anything. It all depends on which items you get, really. If I get a good sword early on (like the Echani Vibrosword), then I just pick up the Finesse feat for melee weapons, and upgraded enough, you've got a sword that's almost as good as a lightsaber. But if I don't get a good sword right away, then I just stick with blasters. In K2 I always focus on Dexterity anyway (again, I pick up the Finesse feat for lightsabers). Mandalorian Rippers are a good choice. But once I get a lightsaber, that's it. It's the strongest weapon in the game, so why pick anything else?

I'm just like Marl in KOTOR 1. I NEVER fight with blasters unless absolutely necessary, like when you're on Peragus and you're kind of low on weapons.

I always use either a single sword or lightsaber for my main character in KOTOR 1. In KOTOR 2, it depends on my class. Jedi Weapon Master: One lightsaber and one schoto. Jedi Watchman: One double bladed lightsaber. Jedi Master: One Lightsaber. Sith Marauder: Double bladed. Sith Assassin: One lightsaber and one schoto. Sith Lord: One Lightsaber. My lightsaber's always red when I'm a Sith.

In K1 my party almost always consisted of fellow Jedi. The only exception really was Carth. As such, it was almost always single lightsabers. Carth would pack two modified blaster pistols, though I forget which ones exactly.

K1: I usually stick to lightsabers, but if I play on the XBOX or I actually feel like playing Taris, I use a long sword. I'll occasionally use a blaster, but most of the time I leave the blasting to Carth & Mission.

K2: Vibroswords/Lightsabers. I've used blasters once or twice, since I was able to find upgrades that boosted the power up to 9-45 damage per shot. Imagine that, plus Master Flurry, along with master speed. But, once again, I generally leave the blasting to Mandalore and HK.

Sorry for the double post, but above, I meant to say Master Rapid Shot, not Master Flurry.

In Taris, my PC (a scout) uses a blaster unless engaged in melee, when he switches to the Prototype Vibroblade.

I prefer to have Carth (early on) or Zaalbar (when I get him) to go up front and take the knocks, while Mission and I stand behind lobbing grenades and firing our blasters.

Also, I only level up to Level 4 until I reach Dantooine, so I have to finish Taris with only low hitpoints, so it's better to stay out of melee where possible.

P.S. Killing Bendak Starkiller on Level 4 is a real bitch.....
