Just played through the demo of L4D2 (thanks to skyrider) and I love the melee weapons so much I was waiting for the hordes to come. The guitar rocks big time and is great fun. Anyone else feel the same ?
They're allright, but the hit detection (or range) leaves something to be desired. I'm sure a few more playthroughs I will get used to them.
I'm probably going to remain a pistol person though. The novelty of swinging a guitar wore off after a few minutes and was rekindled by a pan long enough for me to run back into the saferoom and grab some pistols.
Oh, man. I finally broke down and pre-ordered. Every single one of the shotguns is pure bliss. The guitar's my favorite melee weapon, so far.
I love the frying pan sound effect...BONK!
The machettes the best! I sliced through an entire hoarde surrounding a boomered bot in about 5 seconds flat! I love the G4 semi-auto sniper thing too!
I didn't make it!
I played through Demo with some friends got it on pre-order, the melee weapons are great but I managed to get the magnum yesterday wow that thing packs a punch :D, new weapons certainly going to make interesting games and the new infected are gonna be a pain in the bottom, all the new infected seem to have longer view range aswell! :naughty:
It was hard to drop my Magnum for a Machete, but I did it. Such an awesome game!
I was gone this weekend so I finally snagged the demo last night. WOW was it fun. I feel like the general environment is much more interesting, and I also felt like on any given map I had a larger selection of weapons.
The melee weapons are a riot but I also felt like the hit detection was just a little off. I know the weapons are much slower (as a tradeoff for not having to reload) but it did feel like the hit on the zombie lagged, at least enough to notice.
They obviously still have some minor bugs to work out but what I saw, I liked very much.
I love the dynamic path system. It's not very pronounced in the demo (one doorway might be open for one game, and be bricked off the next), but hopefully the full game takes more advantage of this.
I actually haven't played the demo enough to notice it, I even forgot it exists. :p
But I look forward to seeing what it does with the game as a whole
