Last night I spent a few hours on the LOTRO beta, and I was generally pleased with the experience. I prefer to play these games solo, and I was happy to discover that I was able to get my Elf Hunter to Level 5 without having to group. However, I did encounter a bit of a problem. I just bought a GeForce 8800 card and decided to break it in with LOTRO, along with a Core2Duo E6300 and 2gb of DDRII. So I decided to turn on all the bells and whistles on the options menu of the game, but my frame rate took a serious hit until I turned off AA (I had it set to 2x). The game ran great after that, with only an occasional graphics hiccup. I look forward to the next 2 weeks!

Great, good to see someone else enjoying the Lotro Beta apart from me! Remember everyone it's an open beta so go out and try it! Even if you think you won't like it just try it out and see how it goes, congratulations smythe.

I'm liking it, but I don't want to pay either a monthly fee or $200 one-time. :(
