As some of you may know or don't, www.MMORPG.com has had LOTRO on their site for a long time, they still do, but... LOTRO has been on the mainpage for a long long time in the section Upcoming MMORPG Releases where it was set to Q4/06..
Now it has been removed and in the gamelist it only shows as Development Status and release Unknown...
Sorry to be the bad guy here, but this might look like a 07 release instead...
perhaps this is the result of the boys upstairs insisting after E3 2006 the devs add pvp content for launch. building a system like that from scratch so close to beta has got failure written all over it.
well its kinda interesting i heard it was gna be released very soon but now i heard its going to be released near chritmas time! wats going on???
No body knows mate. Just wait and see
last night lotro exec producer Jeffrey Steefel done an IRC confrence open to the public. answered a lot of questions which kinda made me want to get the game even more despite me hating Codemasters atm (if your reading give me back the money you owe and all will be forgiven :D ... lol).
anyway the good news for MMO gaming fans is;
Raiding is in - previously wasnt. Factions could feature to expand the pvp - previously we could only play one faction.
the bad news is he basically confirmed the game wont ship until next year.
so when is target date for this to hit? We're not talking publicly about ship date yet ballpark? this year or next? The bottom line is that I have support for us making sure we ship a rock solid AAA game that we can all understand
tbh if they add all this new content then i dont blame them for taking their time. i'd rather see quality shine through than a rush cash-in licence job. but my guess is MMORPG got it right and we're looking at a Q2 2007 release date.
ah dam was looking forward to opening a new section in the lotfriles communty lol :P
So this game is still goen ahead huh? I thought it was dead like treason of isengard along with all the other "none Peter Jackson" lotr games. It souldn't take 4+ years to make game. Something must be really wrong with the project if its taking them this long to koff it up.
yes i agree its all gone down the pan most probably, there doing by scratch i think but any news i find i will post it on lotrfiles.com!
