What do you need to make bots. I know we need SDK and some coding know.
I would like to know if it is difficult... and if someone could help me in this way.
I have never made a model before so I don't know how hard it will be, but I think you will need a modeling tool, like Gmax or MilkShape 3D to make the model. That all I know on modeling, :(
Oki thanks very much, for answering. Do you knox some people who can help me?
I don't know of a person that can answer specifics on modelling, but if you start with GMAX and go through the tutorials supplied, you'll be making some pretty kickass models in notime.
I had a go at this awhile ago, the problems really start when you try to export the model out to a quake format. I'd recommend getting the GMAX tempest game pack and pulling out the "POP'n fresh MD3" exporter from the package, it's just a plugin file that you can copy to the GMAX folder. The rest of tempest pack is used to make maps with, which is not all that usefull and usually is easier and less error prone to do in GTKRadiant.
OK, so then once you have made a model and exported it to Quake MD3 format you will need something like Milkshape to do the texturing or UV-MAPPING for it, so IMO, these two tools are a must to get started atleast.
That's about the extents of my knowledge, from tens of failures and 1 successful TEAPOT :( made into a quake3 MD3 model.
I guess you could have a look on modelling specific forums for people to help.. erm Polycount message board might have some people there.
can u give me a link to the easiest map editor or skin creator plz....mapping for dumbies mabye :) lol.
Hey Korn Warrior
On skinning I don't think you use a editor for that, you maybe was thinking of modeling (creating model like a characters, shovels, etc.) But here is a tutorial on the basics on skinning.
Now on to mapping, I use the GtkRadiant editor, here are the links for that
GtkRadiant 1.2.9 (Windows) ==> HERE
For Linux click here
Here a good resource page to look at too.
