Hi all,

I have a problem with my game and I hope someone out there knows whats wrong and can help me fix it :)

Whenever I start the game, I cant get past the Intro movie. When the Intro movie finishes, the screen goes black and I get a window which says DivX8.01 cant be found. I have reinstalled 2 seperate SCIII discs twice each and the result has been the same. ie, I cant even get to the main menu.

Has anyone ever heard of such a problem?

Anyone any ideas on how to fix?

Much thanks to anyone who can help!

Yours sincerely,

Adrian

the guy said DivX not directX so its digfferent i belive that this prpoblem has been solved in the past by reinstalkling sfc3

Thanks all. I'll try the beta patch.

incidentally, I have downloaded and installed latest versions of both Direct and Divx.

*fingers crossed*

Very likely it was directx and he misseen it and though it was divx plus i dont know how a video codec would have nething to do with a game

Ok, i downloaded that patch for my game, yet, it seems thats not my only hurdle

i get an additional error once that one is corrected. A screenshot here shows the error.

If anyone can assist i would greatly appreciate it.

first of all divx wont have anything to do with the game because there is no divx 8.01.

secondly. what type of graphics card you using. becasue this error says you dont have a 3d compatible card.

"assimulation is futile."

I was having the same directx problem. no mather wat i try can't get the game to acept directX is installed, tryed to install it from disc but it constantly crashed or sayin completed whithout running the install, downloaded directX 8.1 from internet still noting same problem. installed dX9 still same message. downloaded beta2 patch build 531, now all is good.

I don't understand it i was running sfc3 up to about 4 mounths ago and it worked fine, but than i formatted my harddisc (cuase of about 500 virusses and i got ADSL) and now it don't work. only differance is that i was running it on Win98 and now 98SE could that be the problem.

annyway it doesn't matter no more caust its running fine now. was just wondering.
