I just have the game and played first some skirmish missions. When I took a sovereign class VS a romulan warbird I noticed that the quantum torpedoes didn't has any effect. When I refitted the sovereign with photon torpedoes I destroyed the warbird 100 times faster ;-) I tested it before I patched the game and after I patched the game.

hi... im not really sure what the problem is but u can take a look... go to the folder "activision/sfc3/assets/commonsettings/weapons" scroll down to quantum torpedoes and it will say things like mass, cost, power and damage... of damage is 0 then obveously it wont do anything... i think the game comes with 8 damage from quantum torpedoes but im not sure. hope i helped.

[HeavyItems\QUANTUM TORPEDO] Description = "QUANTUM TORP" Cost = 1500 Mass = 300 Health = 40 Energy = 10.0 Damage = 13.0 Race = "F"

That is what it says,

But the photon torpedo does have a damaging effect.

[HeavyItems\PHOTON TORPEDO] Description = "PHOTON TORP" Cost = 1000 Mass = 200 Health = 25 Energy = 8.0 Damage = 9.0 Race = "F"

This may seem like a stupid question to some . . . .but how do you open the .gf files to change the weapon info. My computer doesnt recognize the file type, is there something I need to download to be able to do it?

Thanks

Dark-Sage
