so fair I have finished skinning all the parts of the body, adding all the assets I want to my person.... but because the skin has a different color jacket then the normal US_ARMY jacket (the part that you can see when you fire weapons) I have the image and I have reskinned it to my likeing but how to I apply it? (so I can see it in game)

this is the second .tik that skins use . it uses textures from the sleeveview directory . this file usually has the same name as the regular .tik but has ''_fps.tik'' at the end . open pak0.pk3 and browse to models\player . you'll see each skin has 2 .tik files; the main .tik and the _fps.tik . copy and paste one that is closest to your skin's color scheme and if no changes/editing for a custom texture needs to be added, simply change the name of the file to YOURSKINNAME_fps.tik .

if you however, need to include an image (ie. non of the default sleeveviews match your skin's color scheme) then: 1. create your custom sleeve and/or hand texture(s) 2. place them with your other custom textures 3. create an entry in your .shader file for your custom sleeve/hands (you can copy an already existing .shader entry and just change the texture name) ie. ...

theman88_viewsleeve { qer_editorimage textures/theman88_skins/theman88_viewsleeve.tga { map textures/theman88_skins/theman88_viewsleeve.tga rgbGen lightingSpherical } }

4. change the texture name in the default _fps.tik you have open 5. save as .tik file type and have it's name match your skin's .tik file name but again, make sure to have ''_fps.tik'' at the end 6. place this .tik in the player's directory alongside the regular .tik file ...

to get an 'in-game' view of your custom skin ? try using this simple utility i made a while back to do so...

PKM's Action Room Modding Utility, Medal of Honor Downloads, Medal of Honor Utilities

otherwise for developing, edit the shortcut to the game so it reads the following: "C:LOCATION OF GAME\mohaa.exe" +set ui_console 1 +set cheats 1 +set thereisnomonkey 1

there is a space between .exe'' and +set

oh cool thanks I also meant as in don't some servers not allow you to use custom skins? I thought I had heard that some don't for verious reasons, so I didn't know if there was a way to check on a lan server that I make ( because I can only see the sleeves duno if its working and I don't think it was on that server) but I will with out doubt put your utillity to good use ; )
