The guy who created LightRay is working on another version, which he's going to call LiteRay, which will be significantly cheaper and geared specifically toward game modelers. He hasn't announced a price or release date yet, but that's probably a good option to look forward to, and since it will be cheap and popular, chances are there will be many plugins available for it. In fact the LightRay plugins might even work, not sure about that.

Here's a thread about it at the LightRay website, if you're interested.

In the meantime of course, your signature is hardly true at FileFront, so I wouldn't ask for cracked software/keys here. You might have to, perish the thought, actually pay for a license. It has worked for many people over the years, can't be all that bad.

I'm not sure I totally understand your question, but if you are looking for experienced modelers, an-studios.com is probably your best bet these days. I think they have the highest concentration of LightRay-users, if you are looking to convert models you have made.

If you are looking for new models to be made, do searches first. Many, many models have been made and I can nearly guarantee without searching that someone has already ported the COD MP40 over to MOHAA.

Again, you can always ask favors if you don't model yourself. Whatever you do, I would be very polite in asking favors of modelers, because they usually have many projects going, and doing a model for someone you don't even know is quite a favor :D

Yes understood, i've see a MP40 COD rip, but the model doesn't contains animations, and i want a fully functional(reload and firing anim) only that, cause the COD 1 model it's the most similar to the real one (yes i have one hehe:D) and althow i've see a panzerfaust and a C96 mauser, but the first one it's very very bad mod, and the c96 pistol doesn't contain firing and reload animations, but maybe this last one can be very usefull. And i want to do a mod for the Kar98 sniper, take the animation froam the normal kar and put on the sniper rifle(yeah in deed you can use a clip to reload the rifle, and not reload it one by one, the suport of the scope was design for this propose) Thanks you a lot.

On wise Kahn. Since I've never really done any serious map or weapon modding, one quick question for a very simple answer.

I've heard of Milkshape discussed in modding forums, I will do a lil homework laters on that & the other programs didcussed.

Basically, are they used mainly for converting/tweaking maps or SKDs from other games that also use the Quake3 engine? I aasume just because a SKD is used by the same engine, that there are many unique facets of the MOHAA game that need to be considered. The movement of the limbs to be a big one.

Oh, basically, even though SKDs are shapes for the Shaders to colorize and beautify, do the SKDs also contain specific code for limb movement & clothing "flapping in the breeze" while the player moves.

Just a couple of basic 1 or 2 line answers. No need to go into details already posted elsewhere in the forums & tutorials.

Heh, I truley promise to do some real modding homework in the near future.

Many times, we all see questions that could be answered, or at least narrowed down some by even lightly skimming the right tutorial or 2. Even if you speed-read past the tech stuff, you can pick up some basic ideas how it's done or how to word your problem a lil more specifically.

Milkshape and LightRay 3D are both modeling programs that were one-person projects I believe. Milkshape is a good bit more basic, but they both essentially do the same things. Neither was made for a specific game but both have many plugins including MOH.

Well, the .skc animations determine some of that. The .skd's are just shapes though (to put it very simply) and don't tell the game anything about how they move. Some of that is also in the state files (if you ever want a quick headache, go learn about state files). Here's a thread at TMT about them . . .

I look up stuff all the time. Sometimes I even do it for people who should be doing it themselves, just so I can learn a bit for myself. I think you would profit a great deal from reading some modeling tutorials, though - it helps you understand better how skins work too.

And welcome back!

Thank You for dipping your ladle into your well of wisdom.

I lightly gandered those 2 sites. roughly, they seem to be able to adapt models from 1 game to another with the right plug-ins. From skimming, they appear to convert between games, as well as do certain basic sculpting to SKD shapes and perhaps SKCs too. <<

Nooo....A Never-Ceasing Intellectual Cornucopia That Enables This Forum To Be Endowed With The Title "Mensa-Quality-Utopia"

Don't make me find a rhyme for Utopia.

Oops, I'm babbling, Must go play MOHAA till this malady passes.
