Ok, Im sick of this crap about the whole Kobe Bryant thing, as well as the micheal jackson thing.

(1) Kobe Bryant Ok, I dont care abou what he did, nor do I have an opinion. I DO hate tho, that every damn time something comes up about him, it becomes 'breaking news' on every channel. I DONT CARE ABOUT HIM!!! Just because he can put a ball into a hoop, he gets media attention. That pisses me off that everybody assmumes hes innocent just because hes a celebrity.

(2)Micheal Jackson Ok, this guy just sickens me. He looks gross, hes whiter than paper, he is a hypocondriac (how else do you explain the surgons mask and the umbrella?) This guy is just gross. Now, I cant call him guilty, because I would contradict what I said about Kobe here, but I can say hes a sick pedophile, because he admitted he sleeps in bed with little kids. And he says its ok. Thats not natural. And its sick. :fistpunch:

People are saying that Kobe is innocent with no proof. He is human; he can do crimes. People think just because he can play basket ball, he isnt guilty of anything he does. And now, guess what? HIS DEFENSE TEAM IS PLAYING THE RACE CARD!!! WHAT A BIG SUPRISE!!!

If celebrities didn't get attention, they wouldn't be, well, celebrities....

I dont get this. Somebody murdered a cop in LA. Fled to Mexico. The US knows exactly where he is, but the Mexicans wont extradite him because he faces death. But nnnoooo, we need to hear about Kobe Bryant being 5 minutes late to a pre-lim hearing...

When Britney Spears was married for 55 hours, its on the damn cover of People, Us Weekly, Entertainment Weekly, and every tabloid. We land a rover on Mars, and it only gets an article in Popular Science, Sky & Telescope, Discover, and a 10 second blurb on Fox News.

Why are celebrities so important? Why is it more important to hear about Ben and J-Lo than to hear about an earthquake?

And whenever a celebrity is accused of a crime, it gets every news station, radio station, and magazine's attention. A normal guy does the same act, and he is never heard from.

I guess im just sick of Micheal Jackson's face and hearing about him, and I just laugh at the Kobe supporters. They think that 'just cuz he can play basketball, he cant commit crimes'. Crap. Its all crap.

I'm with you Nite. Celebrities get too much attention - they have entire magazines devoted to them. And what do they do? Well, actors dictate the words they've memorised from the script - the scriptwriters being the ones who should be credited - the singers just shout in tune to music, and some of them only do it once and then mime for the rest of their lives. Some of them I don't even know what they've done... Polititians I suppose are important enough to warrant attention, but the attention they get isn't really required. They do something good, its on page 21. They do something bad - which tabloid especially seem to hunt for deliberately, if not planting evidence - they're on page 1, with continuations on page 3, 5, 11... and the discovery of water on Mars, making it at least possible that we're not alone in the universe, is put just in front of the sports.

I think it's a side effect of popular culture. With said culture now fully addicted to anything those in charge say is 'cool', they are thus obsessed with the celebrities who make things 'cool'. Newspapers realise that unfortunately a large majority of the Western world is interested in these petty things on some level, so all news regarding celebrities becomes top priority, second only after public health scandals I think. And the saying 'bad news is good news', so all a celebrity now has to do to be on page 1 is wear his/her shoes on the wrong feet one morning, and there it is.
