What is the most common excuse or reason you get when you are turned down?

I usally get...I dont want to ruin our friendship.

Hmm, I haven't ever asked a guy out and gotten turned down, so I couldn't say, but I can tell you the most common excuse I give when turning someone down. That would be "sorry, I'm already taken".

well thats something i can agree with. ( the 'sorry im already taken')

And im sorry - ive given the 'I dont want to ruin our friendship' and it was true. Yet Im not in the habit of asking men out, so i just give 'turn downs' (if i get asked at all ;) ).

why dont you ask what people's pick-up lines are (either given, or received) Id like to see some - for references sake, and for use perhaps. You never know...

I have to admitt, I've also given the classic "I don't want to ruin our friendship" line. I think we all have a few times in our lives. In my case, though, it wasn't an excuse, it was the truth.

Rejections: None (but no come on's made!) Pick-up lines: None, all too corny for my liking. "Oh, I thought the sun came out, but it turned out to be you"...:r I really want to know, do they have any effect (positivly?)?

Nope. Someone asked me once "was your father a glass maker, because I can see myself in your pants". O_o Needless to say, he got slapped and turned down. But sometimes, they're kind of funny and make me laugh.

Hell if I was there I would have slapped him not to mention you slapping him! Thats just the worst single way of asking someone out!

i dont get physical - i just laugh about it - not necessarily at them (ive never had someone who came up to me that honestly believed i was superficial enough to fall for some crap like that - they came up and said it in a joking fashion) but laughed never the less. I just tell them to think up something better and come back. I prefer honesty to smart comments (though a good one CAN capture your heart)
