Mine was a friend of mine who died of cancer. That was first time and last time (so far, thank god) that anyone has died. I just worked harder at everything. I always was saying, that could have been me, and they do say that 1 in 3 of us will develop cancer.

Two of my grandparents and one uncle have died of cancer. My other grandmother died of a heart attack, my principal commited suicide, a guy from my school was killed in a car accident...

Lovely right?

Um, my great-grandmother died of, well, old age (97, just three more years and she'd have got a telegram from the Queen...). My mother's cousin was run over by a drunk-driver. I didn't know him though. A guy from school was killed a couple of years ago in a car accident. I knew him, not particularly well though. Well, not well enough to go to his funeral. An aquaintance. That's all I can think of. Guess I'm lucky too, though you often find yourself wondering how you would deal with it. Scary thing is, I try and imagine it and nothing happens, no reaction. As for near-death experiences, every time I get behind the wheel its like playing Russian roulette... guess that's what you get for trying to push a Fiat Punto up to 60 MPH in under 60 seconds :S.

Okay...

When I was 3 my grandpa on my father's side died of lung cancer. When I was 6 my grandma on my mom's side died of diabetes. When I was 12-14 my grandma on my dad's side died of cancer. When I was 13, my best friend's father died tragically when he fell from a ditch and hit his head on the rocks. When I was 16, my aunt died of breast cancer. When I was about 15, this guy at my school hanged himself, I was friends with his sister's boyfriend. When I was 17, my ex boyfriend (we had been broken up for 4 months) died of a severe epoleptic seizure.

My dad is probably dead. Not only all of this, but I almost died last August.
