OMG OMG O M G. My friend's mother just died. I can't believe this. I... I don't know what to do, she was died in the hospital about 10 minutes ago after falling through the ice on a lake into freezeing water. I feel terrible. If I sound really stupid in this podt, it is because I am stressed as hell!!! :( :(:cry:

I'm sorry to hear that. I lost 5 friends within one week in the month of October in two car accidents so I know that it is hard and will be for a while depending on how well you knew her. You just have to be with friends and try and get ur mind off it ASAP. Trust me, let time pass by as quickly as possible...meaning not to think about it much and just be with friends. It might sound drastic but it's needed. Again, I'm sorry for the loss.

I think you shouldn't avoid it. You should face it, that's the only way you'll get through it. If you avoid it, it will haunt you. Talk about it with the people you love. I'm no psychiatrist, but I think getting it out in the open and dealing with your feelings is better than repressing them. Just my take on the situation though, good luck.

Ouch. I'm guessing it's not ten minutes ago anymore, so I hope you've dealt with it a little by now. Only try to avoid thinking about it if you weren't really that close to the person and won't need to grieve that much - which I'm guessing isn't the case. In which case, dive straight in so it doesn't creep up on you later on. Make sure your friend does the same, and help him deal with it.
