hmmm I searched couldn't find some threads soi'll start a new one. 1. I have a grass texture that shows up in radiant but I compile and when I test my map... its a missing texture with that black with white lines across it. 2. I have rain... outside I made a brush on 32 grid that covered most of the outside area but didn't touch the inside, I textured it in system/ouside or something, and set it to Fx rain, when I did that it changed into a little box. I tested mymap, the rain was there, but it was inside too. I don't want it raining inside. 3. I need a beam light... like light shining inside a window and or of a light, and you can see the light http://www.greeneggsnspam.com/tuts/map9/index.html But when I texture it, I can't find the texture(this beeing JA not Q3) I textured in comon/nighbeam_somthing <--couldn't see, was being blocked by another texture. I complied and tested( I just complied plain old meta) but It stayed in the loading map menu and never did a thing... it wouldn't load the map, and I had to restart my comp.
1. You have texture with grass loafes and seeds coming from floor? Or just green 2D texture? Which one?
2. I've made whole thread about it!:) Bu now I'm waiting for replies...:( http://www.gamingforums.com/showthread.php?t=117053
3.It worked fine for me (some time ago)... You should try another textures. Check sample duel map, there is an effect you are looking for. (sample duel map - this duel that is in .map file, comes with Radiant)
1. If this is what I think it is, you didn't search well did you? First type sv_pure 0 in the console, secondly is this a custom texture? If so is it a VALID custom texture (dimensions are powers of 2 such as 256x128 and it's standard encoded)?
2. Well that's totally off....if you have less outside area than inside - lets say you have to make this easy - wherever your map is 'outside' place brushes covered in system/outside. Once you've done all that, select all the brushes covered in the outside texture and hit the spacebar to clone them and move them back to cover the original brushes. Now cover these brushes in system/weatherzone, right click and make them into a misc_weather_zone. Finally place an fx_rain entity outside (deselect everything first) and that's it. All Done.
3. Use common/gradient.
I couldn't find the darn texture thread! I searched with a few things... I know there wasn't a thread on beam lights, and i'm about 50% sure there wasn't a thread on the rain. so i had to start a threadr anyways. 1.no its a grass texture from yavin (the same one seen in my how to blend textures thread) 3. still jammed... I tryed another map to see if it was cause my hard drive was full, but that one worked.
Do you have the matrix map (early one) or any other one where someone thought they'd be really smart and bring some textures in from JO? Those maps are known to break JA shaders and textures.
no... I'v never downloaded matrix... my only maps are by raven, sept two sieges.
WadeV1589.............Once you've done all that, select all the brushes covered in the outside texture and hit the spacebar to clone them and move them back to cover the original brushes. Shouldn't weatherzones be linked together? (sholdn't they touch themselves?)
 Gothix I tryed what you said... its not perfect but it will do. I had some funny things going on as I atemted to get it righ, but I did finaly get it to looks good.
does anyone know alot of the maps that might have JO textures. That has caused a big problem for me. Also which matrix map is it.
