After reading the manual and being confused for a bit about the center print part of the m_ac cvar Marker set me straight. Having the ability to turn it off is a good thing. But what I'd like to see is an admin command for broadcasting messages to all players or selected players in large center print so you know that they have seen it. You all know that if you have 8 or more people in a server and chat is going fast sometimes you just don't get your point across as an admin. It may not be needed to freeze of bring to in those situations where a simple broadcast will do. You also may need to tell the whole server to stop with the FFA or clear the dueling area please or non clan members must leave now. I know you don't want Duelers to be heavy on the admin commands and the ones in place do the job well. I think that it would be a nice feature though.

Hmm, I could make a "broadcast" command that worked like say, but used the centerprint. It would be non-selective and seen by everyone. The trick would be to chop up a possibly long message into parts and make the message multiline.... I will keep this in mind for the next release....

Sounds good to me. So long as your not writing a book to someone but no broadcast_gun huh? Oh well the fact that you considered it at all is cool by me. Would the code in Academy for mpsay all do any good to look at? Just thought I'd throw that out there. Thanks again Lee.

That's not what he is suggesting. He is suggesting it work like the "say" command which would broadcast to everyone so this would not be a gun no, although that too may be useful.

I just talked with Chosen One (JA coder) about the mpsay command. The mpsay command only displays to one person but it does display to the center of the screen. Chosen One said that you can use the "\n" command (which I am thinking is basically the same thing as a carriage return (enter key)) for long lines of text. I asked him why it doesn't do this automatically & he said he wasn't sure, this wasn't something he had used in awhile.

In any event, Lee should be able to use the JA code for referance in the least & Chosen One might even improve JA in its next release with this suggestion (as far as needing to use the "\n" goes & possibly other things as well). Thanks for your feedback.

oh in JA you can also type in \ampsay ALL "message here" the all sends it to all the players just like the \ampsay -1 "message here" in ominmod or you can replace is tieh a client number or name just to send it to that one person
