OK I was searching for Threads that told how to make brushes spin/rotate
I got a bunch of random crap that didn't help so I want to clarify once and for all.
I've made my brushes I want to rotate and I know I need a origin brush and I know I need to apply a func_rotating but I don't know excatally what to do.
A brush covered in the origin texture defines the centre of rotation.
Just select the origin brush + all the brushes you want to rotate and make them into a func_rotating, that's it.
More options available in entity window (N)
Thanks Wade- I'll give it a shot.
What speeds can I use for a rotating item? what speeds can I put under key: speed?
Any you want, 100 is default I believe. 1,000 will make it rotate fast enough that it'll look like the rings in the film Contact (god I love those rings.....actually those, goa'uld transport rings and stargate...I'm a ring person :p ringage...ringgage...hmmm).
I just realised I don't know the equation either! Default is 100...but 100 what? It can't be 100 units because it's a rotating object...100 degrees per second; no that's too slow...ARGH
100 = 100 ms takes to make 360deg turn
right? (I'm not sure)
BTW how to you get the brush to rotate the opposite direction?
why is wade banned??? :n0e:
Because you touch yourself at night!
