This discussion topic has been started to allow feedback on the plans that we are developing for Duelers Mod for Jedi Academy. To read about the current (and tentative) plans, please have a look at the Duelers web page (http://duelers.jk2files.com).

Please provide your input on ideas, priorities, things we have missed and include any things you just *hate* about JA -- I know that there are quite a few things for me ;-)

Please don't be discouraged by any seeming lack of response from me about your ideas. I may not have much time to interact, but I will be reading all input before I set out to make the new mod.

I would too. I also would like to add that I dont like it when you attack someone with one forward slash and instead of leaving one slash mark, your left with 20, going left and right. And I dont know if this is do-able, but I find any of the New Reborns are easy to kill while jumping with one Force Push up, they are too high and plumet back to the ground. Forcemod II for Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, had a way you could block force push while crouching, I wondered if you could reverse that effect and use it on all the Reborns - making them invunerable to Force Push while jumping. These are only suggestions and regrdless of whether you use them or not I'm gonna d/load it. :)

Hello there,

I loved duelersmod in jk2 and can't wait for it's triumphant return.

My suggestions/wacko ideas/comments:

admin teleport - I loved this for an uncommon reason; I built a map around it! It had a 'lamers prison' with no entrance; the admin would face up to the glass and teleport the problem child in. Fun, and non-brutal. Even the lamer usually got a laugh out of it. I would like to see the 'teleport an admin to a person' and the 'teleport a person to an admin' individually assignable to different admin ranks if possible. Also, the broadcast message 'so and so has been teleported...' should have an option to be shown only to the person it affects.

the hilt pack was a nice feature, in that it standardized things a bit; you knew what to expect would be there when you went to a duelersmod server.

any way to up the maximum number of custom vehicles allowed? speaking of vehicles, some sort of semi-standard set of extensions to the game for racing maps (lap counting, etc) would be great.

The only complaint I ever heard about duelers was 'i like everything in it except the dueling'; and i have to agree to a point; it had a different 'feel' to it, not quite lag, but something seemed off. Will this be a problem in JKA? you could be facing an uphill battle if it doesnt play right.

I love the idea of 'disarming' a player.

I hope all changes to the combat system are optional; I hate JK2 kicking, and don't want to see any changes to the JKA methods either that I can't turn off or revert to 'regular'.

Empowerment please! (one of our clan ranks has this as a 'privilege')

I'm sure i'll think of more stuff, and you'll get sick of me real quick, but that's a start :)

It would certainly be a good idea to give the power of choice to the server admins.

Some are happy with kicks, some are not. It'd be best to be able to turn these on or off, much like other options.

I would love to see kicking enabled on the mod. That is my only negative point about Duelers, and it would make my gameplay 100% better.

I've played the released version 1.0. I can say only one word - BEATIFUL!!:D The roll from JK2 is back!!:D And the yellow style special is now controllable!:D Great job! But the mod is not perfect.:P My suggestions are (if that's possible of course): - enable the kicks from JK2 (like dementia says:D) - make the red style dfa executable as same as in JK2 - (maybe it's bad idea...but) I'd like staffs and duals to be slowed down a little (becaus in my opinion they are too fast - its like fighting with blue stye with attack button pressed to me...) Anyway - great job!:D
