Hey. I'm just trying my hand at modding jk2 and I've just finished my first skin. Its Kyle in a SWAT uniform. Just wondering if its possible to put a pouldron on his other shoulder too. Maybe add a flak jacket.

This is also my first post so excuse any short comings...

unfortunately, this is not possible with just skinning. you can't add geometry on a skin without modeling, of course. well the jacket can only be skinned.

all that, because i doubt you can model (yet), otherwhise it's possible, of course, but even i haven't brought just one model i did in to the game... :(

good luck on skinning anyways!

Thanks for the reply Raitenks, I've been looking at some of your work and its awesome.

I've only just got some extra time on my hands so I'm quite new to skinning jk2 but I'll be running a few skins soon. Hope to upload them to jk2files.com before long.

I've done few skins of myself and my mates for Medal of honor which didn't turn out too badly.

Just a quick Q. Is there a way to turn the pauldron and collar off other than having to model them off?

yeah, open up an editor and paste in the following: loadmodel surfoff "torso_shoulder_pad torso_collar"

save it as "model_default.surf" (and model_blue.surf or model_red.surf for ctf/cty colors) and put it into your models/players/yourskin folder

that should work.
