How do you switch your PC to a custom player model? Say...I want to play JA with Darth Maul as my charecter, What is the process to import the model? In JO, you just saved it in the kyle folder, but with JA you have like, 5 or 6 different folders it could be in. So I tried replacing "jedi_rm" folder contents by putting my custom model in it, good news? The model showed up. Bad news? The skins did not. So now I am stuck on whether or not I must change the skins file/texture size/texture type/rename the textures? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S.-this is the store bought version, just got it today. Yes it is possible, just not sure how. The model also works great in JO.

No one else seems to know this so I will post the answer: I was tinkering around with adding JO models and found a way: If you do not have pakscape get it now!

First you know the charecters you choose from in the JA editor right? Each one has there own folders in assets 1/ models/players/model name) Say for instance, I want to use Darth Maul for my model and decide that I don't like Rodian jedi(I don't) so I use Packscape and open up "assets_1/models/players/jedi_rm ...jedi_rm being the folder we are going to put our model(unless you want to replace Kel Dor jedi_km or Human male would be "jedi_hm", ect in. The last two letters tell you the name of the model. Now lets say we're using darthmaul_sp.pk3. like with JO, put the pk3 file in your base folder(you should see assets ect. pk3's. Now open up your custom pk3 and change the name of the folder to which ever one you want to replace(jedi_rm, ect.) Now this is the part I got stuck on...if you try to play the game now, you will get a model but no skin, wtf? Well because of this engine, you have to make some more skin files. So open up your darth maul .skin file and copy it, now past it 3 times. go back and rename the three:head_a1, torso_a1, lower_a1. Now you should have 4 skin files all with these names. Save it and start up a game. It should work. any question or comments are appreciated. Thank you.

to put it simply it's like this:

take the pk3 file of the model you want to use and put it into your JA base folder. Start pack scape and open that pk3 file. put an empty file named "jedi_rm" in the players folder of that file. copy all your data(model glm/skin files textures ect. into the empty jedi_rm file. Now open the file (jedi_rm you just put your stuff into) and find the model_default .skin file. copy that file and hit paste into the same folder, now you have a copy of that file...now rename it "head_a1". now hit paste and rename that one "lower_a1". Now hit past and rename THAT one "torso_a1". Go to paksacpe and save what you just did. Now when you open JA charecter selection screen go to the rodian male selection...you should see your charecter in all his splender. I have included some screens where I put Darth Maul into the game to prove this works.

I finally got the model in there, for the life of me I cant get the skins to work. You have been a massive help though and at least I know it will eventually work.

Make sure you have model_default .skin file and copy that file 3X in the smae folder. Now rename 1 copy as head_a1...another copy as lower_a1...and another copy as torso_a1. You should now have 6 .SKIN files: model_red/model_blue/model_default/torso_a1/lower_a1/head_a1. If your model is showing up with no skin this IS the problem. Just follow the directions and it WILL appear. Make sure all names are correct. I would submit the changed sp_maul. pk3 but I did not make the model so if I get permission from the staff to submit it I will. All I can say is keep trying and good luck:thumbsup:

If you are having a hard time working in pak scape, just copy your work on the desktop and do your work there, once you have renamed the copies, select-copy then open pakscape and paste them in the correct folder and save it.
